Sightseeing en cultuur

Surf op de branding van het witte zandstrand van Muizenberg. Klim naar de top van de spectaculaire Tafelberg, de afgeplatte piek die de skyline van de stad domineert. Deel het strand met de talloze wilde pinguïns op Boulders Beach. Dwaal door Bo-Kaap, een district dat bekend staat om zijn multiculturele inwoners en kleurrijke herenhuizen. Pak de veerboot naar Robben Island, waar Nelson Mandela gevangen heeft gezeten, voor een les in Zuid-Afrikaanse geschiedenis. Wandel over de campus van de Universiteit van Kaapstad, een architectonisch wonder aan de voet van de Tafelberg.

Winkelen

Een middagje winkelen begint hier meestal met een trip naar de Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, waar je naar hartenlust kunt shoppen in de zilte lucht van deze bruisende haven. In Kloofstraat, op een steenworp van EF, vind je trendy boetieks, terwijl Kerkstraat met zijn galerieën een geweldige plek is om je hart op te halen aan kunst.

Sport en buitenleven

Zuid-Afrika, dat niet lang geleden gastland voor de FIFA World Cup was, is een natie van sportfans. Speel een vuvuzela op de tribune tijdens een rugbywedstrijd in Kaapstad. Trek naar de top van de Tafelberg, die adembenemende uitzichten over de stad en de kust biedt. Ga op zoek naar wilde dieren in het natuurreservaat van Kaap de Goede Hoop en vang tijdens je surflessen een glimp van dolfijnen op.

Excursies

Ga op een Afrikaanse safari en bespied zebra's, leeuwen en olifanten in hun natuurlijke omgeving. Bezoek de wijngaarden van de Westelijke Kaap, geniet van de combinatie van kust- en boslandschap langs de Tuinenroute, en sta aan Kaap de Goede Hoop op het punt waar de Indische en Atlantische Oceaan dramatisch samenkomen.

Amusement en nachtleven

Zet koers naar Langstraat met zijn koloniale architectuur en gezellige bars, restaurants en clubs. Dans op de tonen van een traditionele muziekopvoering in Mama Africa en woon megaconcerten van beroemde bands bij in het stadion van Kaapstad.
