Countdown to university
We recognise that the university application process is the most important journey of students while pursuing their high school studies. At International Academy, the preparation begins the moment a student joins our school.
INTRODUCTION
+ 24 MONTHS (Phase 1)
Enroll in EF International Academy grades 9-10 and adjust to US and UK education systems.
18-24 MONTHS (Phase 2)
Introduction o the university admission process and assignment of EF University Placement Advisor. Visits to universities during school breaks.
15-18 MONTHS (Phase 3)
- Practice inter viewing skills in mock interviews and develop personal action plan
- Meet with advisor and short list universities to research
- Attend first SAT prep
- Specialist preparation for Oxbridge and medical entrants.
UNIVERSITY EVALUATION
12-15 MONTHS (Phase 4)
Evaluate preliminary list of universities with parents; University visits during weekends and school break; Take the first SAT tests.
9-12 MONTHS (Phase 5)
- Make final course selection for UK
- Undertake internships for Oxbridge and medical aspirants
- Draft a personal statement
- Visit universities of interest and also attend university fairs/guest lectures
- Prepare for the SAT/TOEFL exams
6-9 MONTHS (Phase 6)
- Visit the campuses of universities and meet with admission counsellors
- Take final SAT tests
- Submit UCAS applications to Oxbridge/Medical/Dental/Law
- Finish the college essay and apply to US universities by Dec 31
