Founders Scholarship

Founders Scholarship

EF International Academy is committed to rewarding students for their achievements and helping them reach their goals by awarding scholarships based on academic merit and financial need.

Introduction
Our annual Founder’s Scholarship campaign gives six exceptional students the opportunity to attend our schools in Britain and the United States and covers 50% of tuition and accommodation for the two-year IB and A Level programmes.

Two scholarships are granted at each of our campuses- located in New York, Oxford, and Torbay and will be awarded to highly talented, ambitious students who can make a positive contribution to the EF International Academy community.

Students who are granted a Founder’s Scholarship are not eligible to apply for any other EF International Academy scholarships for the A-level or IB Diploma Programmes.

Application Criteria
Applicants should demonstrate excellence in two key areas: academic achievement and English language proficiency.

Candidates will also present themselves as well-rounded individuals. This may be demonstrated by extra curricular achievements such as sporting achievements, musical talent, community service, and leadership. Winners of local or national academic competitions such as Maths or English Olympiads are welcome to apply.

Applicants must be highly motivated and will be looking to further their studies at world-renowned institutions after their time at EF International Academy — preferably at Oxbridge colleges or Ivy League universities.

Application Process
Candidates can apply to their local EF representative office with their completed Scholarship Application Form, with most recent high school transcript, a letter of recommendation from the candidate’s school and/or class teacher, evidence of ability in English (an internationally recognized qualification or the EF free English test) and evidence of other relevant talents and achievements. A 300-500 word essay must accompany the application and must outline the following points:

1) the applicant’s ambitions for the future;
2) how they can contribute to the EF International
Academy community;
3) why they believe they should be awarded the scholarship.
